What to expect: 360 Programme
What is the 360 Programme?
The 360 Programme is a programme of coaching sessions. These sessions take place over the course of 6 x 60-minute coaching conversations (360 minutes!) and allows enough time for goals to be identified, actions to be set in motion and reflections to take place between sessions. 6 x sessions can provide opportunity to cover many aspects (360°, the full circle of your life!)
The discovery call
Before booking a coaching programme with me, we’ll have a discovery call. There’s no pressure to book any sessions beyond that first call. If you decide not to book a programme or just not right now, then that’s fine :). Find out what to expect on a discovery call. You can book your free discovery call now.
After the discovery call I’ll send you an email with a few notes from our conversation and your options for next steps.
Before the session
If do you decide to book 6 x 60-minute sessions, then we’ll get the paperwork out of the way before we begin. Once the agreement is in place and sessions paid for then I’ll email to you tools which you complete by yourself in your own time ahead of our first coaching session. These are tools to help with improving self-awareness and should take no more than 1 hour to complete.
My preference is to begin a coaching programme with us both gaining a better understanding of what’s important to you in life (values) and what you’re great at (strengths). These are unique to you, and when combined can give you insight to help guide you when making decisions throughout your life. I find that strengths and values are often referred back to throughout subsequent conversations – they can often help with providing guidance when the way forward is not immediately clear. The bonus for you is that you can refer back to this work at any time, so you can get a long-term benefit from this first session.
I will email a link to a Values identification worksheet that I created (this is a Google Sheet that you directly edit). This typically takes around 20-30 minutes for you to complete.
I’ll also buy and send you a physical copy of the CliftonStrengths® StrengthsFinder® assessment book which includes a code to take an assessment online. (Note that you will need to register on the Gallup website to do this and agree to their terms and privacy policy). The online assessment takes 30-40 minutes, and you’ll discover your unique findings immediately when you have completed the assessment.
Booking the session
I’ll share with you my online Google Calendar booking form, so that you can book in your session on a day and time that best suits you. Bring your findings from the Values and Strengths exercises to the session. We’ll explore what you have learned. This conversation can often raise topics or aspects of your life that need attention and can be the focus for one of the sessions.
What happens during the coaching sessions?
The sessions are your time. I have suggested the framework below as a guide for our conversations. But if you have topics that you have already identified and just want to be coached on those, then that’s fine with me. All exercises are completely optional. You can choose whether or not to complete them.
I will only be making a few notes during our conversations to support the discussion we are having in the session. If there is any insight or actions that you want to remember, then please do make notes as you need to.
Session 1: I will ask questions related to the values and strengths exercises you completed. The purpose is for you to understand more deeply what makes you tick.
We may uncover one high priority area and we can use the first session to focus purely on that. Or, we may see a few areas in your life that you’d like to discuss further. I can provide a framework of questions, but the session is yours for you to choose how to use it. So if you identified something during your work on identifying strengths and values, then we can jump straight to that topic.
Session 2: After session 1, if you are seeking more clarity about what to address, then I can supply a Wheel of Life exercise for your to complete in your own time. This should take no more than 20 minutes. We’ll review the findings of the Wheel of Life exercise you completed. This will typically highlighted one or more aspect of your life that you would like to focus on. We may explore one of those during this session or use the time to uncover any common theme(s) that can be worked on in a coaching session.
Sessions 3-6: You can then choose to work through the coaching topics that have been highlighted.
As an example, you may highlight that Work/Career is the one over-arching aspect of your life that you’d like to discuss across the four sessions. You may want to use one session to focus on specific aspects of work/career, such as: reducing anxiety, presenting confidently, preparing for a difficult conversation or preparing for your end-of-year review meeting.
The session time is yours, so if you decide to bring something completely new that has come up in your life, then that is fine.
Here are some example coaching topics that may help you identify the highest priority issues.
I will have tools, exercises and reference models available to introduce where relevant to better support our coaching conversations.
At the end of the 360 Programme
The work that you completed remains for you to use whenever you need to in the future. I encourage this.
You will likely find that you spend more time thinking about the work you have done between sessions, and how you might want to make some adjustments in your life. This is normal and expected. The benefits you’ll get from the investment you are making goes beyond the assessment and the 6 x 60 minutes calls we spend time in discussion.
There is no further obligation for you to do anything else after the six sessions. I will send a short survey for you to complete if you would like to.
